Designed as a sturdier mounting solution than the stock Vintage Air airbox brackets provide (14-gauge steel vs. 18-gauge VA stuff. It also assembles much easier; you simply attach it to the VA box on your workbench then easily slide it into the firewall using the welded studs on our bracket - no threading bolts through three layers of metal nonsense like the VA unit. Parts are shipped raw steel - no paint
