Description
Brake Proportioning Valve Bracket - Stainless Steel
When you install a disc brake conversion, it is important to be sure the rear drum brakes do not engage ("Lock-up") before the front disc brakes have a chance to begin slowing the car. A tried and proven method is to install a proportioning valve in the rear brake line. Technically operating as a "hold-off" valve, you set the proportioning valve to limit the pressure spike to the rear drum brakes so the front brakess can begin to slow the car and cause some weight transfer to the front wheels.
We developed this stainless steel bracket to make it easy to mount a common Wilwood Proportioning valve (
260-8419). We used it recently on a 1969 Dodge Superbee and mounted it below the drivers side door along the factory pinch weld. This is a convenient location that allowed us to cut the factory rear brake line, add new fittings, flare the brake line and install a proportioning valve in about 30 minutes. Designed to use 1/4-20 fasteners on 1" spacing, this bracket is made from Stainless Steel so it will not corrode. Mount it under the hood or under the car and make mounting a proportioning valve just a little easier.
Bracket only, proportioning valve and hardware not included.
